Making an annual retreat is an ancient rhythm that can help us to slow down and notice what’s happening on the interior of our own lives.
Once we withdraw, we can have the space to experience true stillness and even listen carefully to God’s voice within. Intentionally setting aside this time can open us to interior wisdom, the felt presence of God, and greater clarity in our desires.

Retreat Director:
Jimmy Elsner has been a practicing Spiritual Director since 2018. Initiated by a season of spiritual confusion and disorientation, Jimmy pursued instruction in the Christian mystical tradition through a 3-year spiritual formation and spiritual direction training program led by Sr. Nancy Brousau, OP of the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids, MI. After several years of meeting with individuals for Spiritual Direction, Jimmy felt a call to pursue further training in leading Directed Retreats. In 2025, Jimmy completed a Directed Retreat Practicum, which included leading a 6-day directed retreat in Conway, MI, at the Augustine Retreat Center. As a Spiritual Director, Jimmy partners with each person to co-discern the work and movement of the Holy Spirit in their lives. He relies on frameworks such as the teachings of Jesus, the Enneagram, and wisdom from the lineage of Christian mystics.
