Our Team: Interns

Patrick Houghton-Brown

Clinical Intern

Patrick is an intern therapist working towards his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Neumann University. He has prior experience as a crisis counselor, teaching assistant, working in non-profit development, and writing. He received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Liverpool and a graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership from St. Catherine University.

Patrick provides a warm, steady presence, creating the space for clients to process the full range of human experience. As an immigrant, he is particularly sensitive to the unique challenges associated with identity and acculturation. He is influenced by existential and psychodynamic theories, helping clients to make meaning, gain insight into unconscious patterns, and begin living as their authentic, individuated selves.
