Josh Tonkay

Masters Candidate Therapist

Josh is a master’s level counseling student in his third and final year of study. He specializes in addictions and co-occurring disorders and was recently named the 2023 Outstanding Addictions Student by the Kutztown University chapter of the Chi Sigma Iota counseling honors society. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University, Josh gained experience on the front lines of the Philadelphia opioid crisis, providing case-work and employment support for individuals in recovery while leading mental health support groups on topics of mindfulness, self-care, and grief and loss. Through this work, Josh has developed a passion for mental wellness and communal healing.

He provides emotionally-focused narrative counseling that prioritizes relationship building and love of self. Josh is an LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor and happily works with individuals, couples, and alternative relationship configurations.
