Our Team: Counselors

Jodie Mitchell, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Jodie Mitchell is a licensed professional counselor. She graduated with high honors from Lancaster Bible College Capital Seminary and Graduate School with her master’s degree in professional counseling in 2016.

Jodie has experience working as a behavioral health technician (formerly known as a TSS) and as a family-based therapist. As a family-based clinician, she worked in a variety of settings including private residences, schools, hospitals, and a variety of other community locations. She has worked with clients from ages 4 to 70, and with assorted client needs: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship concerns, emotional dysregulation, behavioral concerns, anger, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, self-harm, and suicidality. She considers herself to be an eclectic therapist, tailoring the methods that she uses to fit each client’s unique situation and needs. Jodie often blends methods from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, attachment theory, ecosystemic structural family therapy (ESFT), and narrative therapy in her work with clients. If a client wants to include spirituality or faith in session, she welcomes that as well and allows the client to guide those inclusions. Jodie also saw clients, ages 10-14, as a school-based outpatient therapist. Jodie views her time with clients as a collaborative effort, trusting that together they can work towards the changes that the client would like to see in their lives.

Outside of work, Jodie enjoys spending time with her husband of 25-plus years, their adult children, and their family dog, Cooper. She enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, baking, and being outdoors. As a Delco native, Jodie also enjoys cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and the 76ers.
