Emily Keener

Master's Candidate Therapist

Emily is a Master’s level social work student at Millersville University and plans to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her undergraduate degree at Temple University and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who uses a variety of creative modalities as a form of therapy. Emily has worked with all ages in a range of settings from outpatient children and adolescents to adult inpatient behavioral health and older adults. She creates an inclusive and nonjudgmental space to work through shame, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and life stressors. Her approach believes in bearing witness to an individual’s story and assisting in reauthoring narratives that promote hope and healing. Emily believes showing up for a therapy session and each time thereafter is one of the most courageous acts individuals can do for themselves and others in their circle.
