Who We Are

Samaritan Center’s mission begins and ends with people and the community.

The Samaritan Center fosters hope and healing through professional counseling services, business consulting, clergy and congregation care, and education while respecting and integrating personal and spiritual values. The Center strives to ensure that quality, professional services are accessible to all people.

To ensure this access for counseling services, Samaritan offers subsidies for individuals, families and children who are unable to afford the full fee for counseling. Samaritan Counseling Center provides more than 12,000 counseling sessions per year.

Another integral part of the mission of the Samaritan Center is to provide outreach services to the most vulnerable in our community. Samaritan’s current outreach is through TeenHope, a teen mental health screening program in Lancaster County schools which is almost 100% donor-funded.

While Samaritan’s primary focus is to provide counseling and mental health services, it also has two consulting divisions, Samaritan Consulting Group and Clergy & Congregation Care. These divisions contribute to the center’s mission of building healthy minds and strong communities by working with businesses, organizations, churches, faith leaders, and regional associations to create healthy workplaces and places of worship.

As a nonprofit, the Samaritan Center and its services are supported by the generous contributions of individuals, businesses, corporations and foundations in and around Lancaster County. Profits from Samaritan Consulting Group and Clergy & Congregation Care are also put back into the center to support its mission.

Currently Samaritan serves a client population from Lancaster, Lebanon, Berks, York and other counties with a clinical, administrative and program staff of 40-plus employees, as well as 15 partnering consultants for our consulting branches.
