As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect with gratitude on a year of tremendous growth and transformation at the Samaritan Center! We are incredibly grateful for your support and friendship this year!
We partnered with PerformCare allowing the Samaritan Center to accept Pennsylvania Medical Assistance and make our center more accessible to everyone!
We officially opened our second location in downtown Lancaster! The addition of Samaritan Center North Market allows us to continue expanding our accessibility and better serve the community.
We held our inaugural Dance for Mental Health classes, taught by Renée Kurz, LPC, BC-DMT. This 6-week dance program offers movement experiences to release stress and tension held in the body, reconnect with yourself, and restore a sense of vitality.
We held two Iron Hill Give20 fundraising events this year. Thank you to all who came out to wine & dine in support of the Samaritan Center and the Silent Samaritans!
We held a trendy new twist on our annual gala at The Inn at Leola Village. “A Gala Renewed” featured trivia, a live DJ, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and the chance to bid on raffle items. Over 100 attendees came out to support us and helped us raise more than $17,000!
We celebrated the grand opening of Samaritan Center North Market with an Open House! We were joined by the Lancaster Chamber for our ribbon-cutting ceremony while our guests enjoyed touring the new space and meeting some of our therapists.
We were recognized by the Lancaster Stormers as the “Non-Profit of the Game” and our Executive Director, Steve Schedler, even threw the first pitch!
We released our 10-year report on TeenHope, Samaritan’s mental health screening program that aims to prevent teen suicide by identifying high school and middle school students who may be at-risk for anxiety and depression. Over the last 10 years, TeenHope has screened over 18,000 students. Thank you for caring about teens in our community!
We held our 29th annual Silent Samaritan Luncheon at The Inn at Leola Village. Around 220 women attended the luncheon and raised over $53,000 to help women in our local community.
We began a partnership with Landis Communities and hosted a kickoff event at their location, introducing them to the valuable resources Samaritan will be bringing in 2025.
We participated in the 2024 ExtraGive and raised $40,553 from the generous support of 225 donors! We are overwhelmed with the generosity of our community.
Recently, Samaritan Center staff gathered in fellowship at the Inn at Leola Village for their annual Christmas Luncheon.

In 2024, we were able to provide over 14,000 counseling sessions for our community and offer over $200,000 in subsidies for those unable to afford full fee counseling. Thank you for your support as we walk this journey together.
