Jimmy holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College, a Spiritual Director’s certificate, and has earned and maintained his SHRM-CP credential since 2021. Leading the Operations and HR functions at Samaritan Center brings together his background in mental health and experience with organizational development. He loves being the first point of contact for applicants because it allows him to showcase the rich culture, high engagement, and common-sense approach present at Samaritan Center.

Jimmy has extensive experience helping new or developing organizations build their HR functions from the ground up by setting up baseline policies and procedures, systems, and ways to quantify employee experience. He believes it is essential to first consolidate all people data in an HRIS (Human Resource Information System) so all future steps can have an operating system to store and share information effectively. Moving forward from there, he assesses the needs of the organization and assists in creating clear expectations for employees that cascade from the goals of the organization, such as job descriptions, organizational chart, performance review system, and compensation model. In more advanced stages of an organization, he may assist with creating a system for learning and development, succession planning, and role forecasting. Jimmy knows every organization has its own unique challenges. He works within the existing framework to develop a deeper, more integrated people function so that employees are free to do their best work.
