Overview

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an effective, scientifically researched method for reducing physical and psychological suffering while building resilience, balance, and peace of mind.

Learning to practice mindfulness provides a way of relating directly with whatever is happening in your life, a way of taking charge of your life, of consciously and systematically noticing and responding to your own stress and pain, and to the challenges and demands of living as well.

MBSR is a scientifically researched program that starts with cultivating present-moment attention in an open, nonjudgmental way.

Schedule

This is an 8-week virtual class with sessions being held on Fridays from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM.

Registrants are asked to attend an orientation session on 3/15 from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM.

The class runs on Fridays beginning 3/22 and runs 5/10 through  with no class on 3/29.

There is an essential all-day session on Saturday 3/23 from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Cost

The cost for this program is $295. Once you have registered for the class, you are asked to attend the orientation session on 3/15. If you decide to confirm your registration for the class, you will be billed for the $295 and asked to pay before the first session on 3/15.

About the Instructor

Becky Sanstead (MSW, LSW) is a therapist at Samaritan Center and has earned her master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She provides a nonjudgmental and accepting environment for children, adolescents and adults in which they can freely explore personal and relational challenges while increasing self-awareness to create lasting and meaningful changes. She incorporates various therapeutic techniques to foster insight into behavioral and thinking patterns to support acceptance and healing. Becky is also a registered yoga teacher with specialized trainings in incorporating yoga into trauma recovery/integration. She has completed her training to be Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) educator and is finalizing her certification by leading this class.
